Quick Links
The fastest routes to the most common tasks. If you know what you need, start here.
Get a quote — visit our Contact page and fill in the enquiry form. We aim to respond within 2 business days with a written quotation or a call to discuss the scope.
Check a reference ID — look for your SR-, QR-, or CR- reference in any email we have sent you. If you have lost it, see the Troubleshooting section below.
Find answers — our Frequently Asked Questions page covers the questions we hear most often, from NICEIC certification to payment terms and what to expect on the day.
Contact us directly — email us at info@nexgen-electrical.co.uk or call during office hours (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm). Full contact details are in the Contacting Us section.
Emergency callout — if you have an urgent electrical fault outside normal hours, call the number in your completion paperwork or the emergency line listed on your certificate. Do not use the website form for emergencies — response times are not guaranteed.
Using Our Forms
Our quote and contact form is the fastest way to reach us. Here is what to expect.
Required fields — the form asks for your name, email address, a contact phone number, and a brief description of the work you need. All four fields are required before the form will submit.
Describe the job — the more detail you can give us, the more accurate your quote will be. Mention the property type (house, flat, commercial unit), the approximate size or number of circuits involved, and whether you have a consumer unit (fuse board) that may also need attention.
After submission — once you submit the form, two things happen: you receive an automated confirmation email with your Service Request reference (SR-YYYY-NNNNN), and your enquiry lands in our operations queue. A member of the team will review it and respond within 2 business days.
2 business day response — our response window runs Mon-Fri 8am-6pm, excluding UK public holidays. Enquiries submitted on a Friday afternoon or over the weekend will be picked up on the next working Monday.
No SR- confirmation email? — check your spam or junk folder first. If it is not there after 30 minutes, the form may not have submitted successfully. Try again, or contact us directly by email at info@nexgen-electrical.co.uk quoting your name and postcode.
Understanding Your Reference IDs
Every job at Nexgen moves through a structured three-stage reference system. Your reference ID tells us — and you — exactly where in the process your job sits.
Reference ID anatomy
| Segment | Prefix | Year | Sequence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Format | SR- | 2025 | 00142 |
| Meaning | Type | Year issued | Job number |
The format is always the same: a two-letter prefix, the four-digit year, and a five-digit sequence number. For example: SR-2025-00142.
SR- (Service Request) — issued when you submit an enquiry. This is your proof of contact. QR- (Quote Reference) — issued when we send you a formal written quotation. Use this when you confirm you want to proceed. CR- (Completion Reference) — issued when the job is complete and your certificate is raised. This is the reference for all future warranty or certificate queries.
Why does this matter? Because electrical work often spans weeks or months, involves multiple site visits, and produces certificates that need to be kept for years. Having a consistent reference system means you can always reach us with a single number and we can pull up every detail of your job instantly — no searching by address or date.
When contacting us, always quote the most relevant reference number. If the work is complete, use your CR-. If you are querying a quote, use your QR-. If you have not yet heard back from an enquiry, use your SR-.
Issued automatically when you submit an enquiry or quote request through our website contact form. Your SR- number is your proof of enquiry — keep it safe. You will receive it in your confirmation email within a few minutes of submitting the form.
Issued when we accept your enquiry and produce a formal quotation. Your QR- number appears on the written quote document we send you. If you approve the quote and want to proceed, quote this number when you confirm — it tells us exactly which job scope and pricing you are accepting.
Issued once the electrical work is complete and the completion certificate has been raised. Your CR- number appears on your Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) or Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR). This is the reference to use for any warranty queries, certificate re-issue requests, or future inspection work.
Use this when contacting us about a job
“I'm contacting you about [JOB TYPE]. My reference number is [REFERENCE ID] and the work was at [POSTCODE]. My name is [YOUR NAME] and you can reach me on [PHONE/EMAIL].”
Replace the bracketed placeholders with your own details before sending.
Contacting Us
We offer multiple ways to reach us — choose the one that suits your situation.
Email — info@nexgen-electrical.co.uk. Email is our preferred channel for non-urgent enquiries, quote follow-ups, and certificate queries. Include your reference ID in the subject line if you have one.
Phone — call us Mon-Fri 8am-6pm. Phone is best for time-sensitive matters or when you need to describe a complex job. Outside these hours, please leave a voicemail or send an email.
Emergency out-of-hours — if you have a live electrical fault that cannot safely wait until morning (for example, a total loss of power, sparking fittings, or a smell of burning), call the emergency number on your completion certificate. If you do not have a certificate, call the main number and follow the out-of-hours prompt.
Response times — email replies within 2 business days; phone calls answered immediately during office hours (Mon-Fri 8am-6pm); out-of-hours emergencies responded to as quickly as possible (attendance not guaranteed within a fixed window).
What to have ready — when you call or email, having the following to hand will speed things up considerably: your reference ID (SR-, QR-, or CR-), the postcode of the property, a brief description of the issue or query, and your preferred callback time if we miss you.

Troubleshooting
Common issues and how to resolve them quickly.
Form not submitting — if the Submit button does not respond, try the following: (1) check that all required fields are filled in — the form highlights any missing fields in red; (2) disable any browser extensions that block scripts, such as ad blockers or privacy tools; (3) try a different browser (Chrome or Firefox are recommended); (4) if the problem persists, email us directly at info@nexgen-electrical.co.uk with your enquiry.
Not received a reply — if you submitted an enquiry and have not heard back within 2 business days, first check your spam or junk folder for the automated confirmation email (subject: 'Your Nexgen Service Request'). If that is not there, the form submission may not have been received — try re-submitting or contact us by email. If you did receive the SR- confirmation but no follow-up, email us quoting your SR- reference and we will investigate.
Lost your reference ID — if you cannot find your SR-, QR-, or CR- number, contact us by email or phone with your full name, the postcode of the property, and the approximate date of the enquiry or work. We can look up your record and resend the reference details.
Certificate not received — completion certificates (Electrical Installation Certificates or EICRs) are issued digitally once the job is complete and all invoices are settled. Allow up to 10 working days from the date of practical completion. If it has been longer than that, email us at info@nexgen-electrical.co.uk quoting your CR- reference. Certificates are not issued until outstanding invoices are paid in full — this is a mandatory requirement of our NICEIC approved contractor status.
Incorrect details on your certificate — if you notice an error on your certificate (wrong address, wrong date, wrong client name), contact us immediately quoting your CR- reference. Certificate amendments must be requested within 30 days of issue. We cannot amend certificates that have already been submitted to Building Control under Part P.
